Get Involved!
Published by Matthew Landauer | Filed under
OpenAustralia exists to help connect people with information about their government. If you are a user, volunteer or technical developer, there are a number of ways you can get involved to help the project grow and get more people using it.
How would you like to get involved?
I’d like to use my technical skills to help the OpenAustralia project.
- download the source from software.openaustralia.org
- Come to an OpenAustralia hackfest (subscribe to be notified of upcoming events)
- Start your own OpenAustralia Hackfest (ask us how)
I’d like to use OpenAustralia in my community
- Educator
- Community organiser
- Journalist
- Blogger
I’d like to spread the word and get other people using OpenAustralia:
- Show your support, or talk to us via twitter or facebook
- Write a blog about how you’re using OpenAustralia, we love hearing from you
- Report a bug/Share an idea - email us via contact [at] openaustralia dot org, or add your requests to tickets.openaustralia.org.
- Give a talk about OpenAustralia in your community (ask us how)
If you’re time-poor but want to help, donate a small sum via PayPal:
Volunteers and your donations are all that keeps the site going.
- Paying for web hosting
- Support addition of new features
We are committed to full financial transparency. So, any money donated (including where/who it came from) and how the money is spent will be published on our website for all to see. After all, it’s important for people to truly know that OpenAustralia is a non-partisan, independent organisation and there is no better way to do this than to completely and transparently publish where any money comes from and where it goes. There’s no information here because we haven’t spent anything yet, but we’ll let you know when we do.
