About
Published by Katherine Szuminska | Filed under
OpenAustralia is the website which makes it easy for people to keep tabs on their elected representatives in Parliament.
Since this all began in November 2007, its been entirely volunteer run, OpenAustralia was founded by Matthew Landauer and Katherine Szuminska, based on the question “I wonder how long it would take to get a version of theyworkforyou together for Australia”. Lots of things were broken, and it still said “House of Lords” in place of “the Senate” in a few places, but the answer, as it turns out was “about a week”. This was enough to start the adventure that has been bringing the Hansard to you in a really easy to use form. Since then we’ve brought the Register of Members’ and Senators’ Interests online for the first time, and are currently busy making other information easier to access and more relevent for everyone.
If you enjoy the site, and have a few minutes to spare, why don’t you join us?
